Sustainable business performance has remained challenging for businesses globally across professions, and it seems the human resource competence is the main hindrance, specifically in the Ugandan context. As such the aim of this study was to assess the relationship between dental learning orientation and sustainable business performance in Uganda, given the mediating effect of business suitability of Dental graduates from Makerere University. A cross sectional design and Quantitative approach were employed in the collection and analysis of the data. A sample of 122 respondents was drawn from a population of 306 dental surgery graduates from Makerere University. A guided questionnaire and STATA version 15.0 software were used in collecting and analyzing data respectively. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between dental learning orientation and sustainable business performance, dental learning orientation and business suitability and business suitability and sustainable business performance. Overall, there is a strong positive relationship between dental learning orientation, business suitability of dental graduates and sustainable business performance. The study therefore recommends for a review and an update of the teaching curriculum for the Bachelor of Dental surgery to incorporate a course-unit on business management that would provide practical entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.en_US
