This report outlines my role and responsibilities as the Project Structural Engineer for the design and supervision of the Hosanna Wholesalers Limited building in Nansana Municipality. The main objective of the Hosanna Wholesalers Limited project is to address the increasing demand for commercial wholesale facilities in Nansana Municipality. Using CSC Orion Analysis and Design software, I performed the necessary analysis and design work and prepared construction drawings and specifications as part of the tender documents. After the contract was awarded to HUB Construction Service, I supervised the construction process, including regular site inspections, quality control checks, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. As the Project Structural Engineer for the construction of Hosanna wholesalers limited located in Nansana West 1a zone, Nansana municipality, I was also responsible for ensuring that the structural part of the project worked in favour of time management, cost control, time control, and risk management. To manage the constrained site access, we implemented strict project time management, ensuring that all activities were carefully planned and executed within the scheduled timelines. This was achieved through close monitoring of the construction schedule, biweekly site inspections, and timely issuance of site instructions to ensure that any issues or delays were quickly addressed. Cost control was also an important aspect of the project, and we ensured that all project expenses were properly budgeted, tracked, and managed. We implemented cost and timesaving measures such as the use of Ready-Mix concrete to accelerate the contractor's work schedule and reduce the overall construction costs. We also advised the client regarding which of the two proposed contractors to use. Risk management was also a critical aspect of the project, given the constrained site access. We identified potential risks and developed contingency plans to mitigate them. We also implemented strict safety protocols to ensure that all workers were safe on the site. Despite the challenges of working on a constrained site, we successfully completed the project within the scheduled time and budget, with minimal safety incidents. The project has provided a valuable wholesale facility for the traders of Nansana Municipality, boosting the local economy, and improving accessibility to goods and services. Overall, the project was a success, and we learned valuable lessons about the importance of project time management, cost control, time control, and risk management in ensuring successful project completion, especially in challenging circumstances.en_US
