This research investigates the current software usability practices in developing countries, particularly in Uganda. It documents the contemporary user needs, attitudes and challenges that are being experienced in regard to software usage and adoption. The performance of software in circulation is judged based upon indicators like efficiency, effectiveness and ease of use. In addition, local and internationally produced software are compared in terms of functional performance and user satisfaction. This study proposes some recommendations about how to further improve software usability within the present circumstances, as well as some predictions about the future trends.en_US
