    Abstract
Measures were taken to establish which conservation activities are implemented in Mabira Central Forest Reserve and under what CBD articles they fall. Conservation activities implemented were identified through questionnaires and interviews with the various stakeholders and through my visits to some parts of the forest. This study found many different activities implemented and these fall under most of the CBD articles. The success and failure rates of implementing them was also sought together with the challenges faced. This study found quite satisfactory levels of success of implementing these conservation activities . This is true as most people acknowledged the importance of conserving this forest. Though conservation activities are widespread, there are still some cases of logging. This is due to some factors like Economic. Due to the fact that the forest still exists in large parts, this means that conservation efforts are generally successful, despite the existence of pressures from some sectors wanting to degazette parts of the forest.
