dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between domestic violence and sexual intimacy among formerly displaced persons in Gulu district. The study was guided by three objectives namely to determine the forms of domestic violence, to determine their prevalence, and to determine the relationship between domestic violence and sexual intimacy. A cross sectional and correlation designs were used. The sample size comprised of 210 participants of whom 51.9% were men and 48.1% were women. Systematic, stratified and purposive sampling techniques were used to select participants. CTS2 and PAIR were the instruments used to measure domestic violence and sexual intimacy respectively. Their validity and reliability coefficients were 0.97 and 0.75 for CTS2 and 0.89 and 0.75 for PAIR. The findings indicate that there are many forms of domestic violence with fighting the leading. Prevalence rate for this violence is high. There is a high significant relationship between domestic violence and sexual. It is recommended that NGO‟s and government should look into this matter expeditiously. | en_US |
