dc.description.abstract | The study sought to assess the donor funds management at Sparks Micro Grants. The objectives of the study were to examine the procedures for donor fund management at Spark Micro Grants, identify the donor fund management challenges and to suggest ways of improving donor fund management. The study was qualitative in nature and adopted a cross sectional survey design. The sample size was 25 participants who were purposively selected. Both primary and secondary data was collected for the study. An interview guide was used to collect primary data which was analyzed using content analysis technique. Trustworthiness and ethical considerations were also ensured. The findings of the study revealed that Spark micro grants has internal procedures used in managing donor funds such as; reviewing contracts and assessing its conditions, setting up financial systems to manage donor delegations, prepare reporting framework and timetable. Furthermore, study results showed that funds disbursement bureaucracies are a challenge in donor fund management. Resources earmarked for particular use flow within legally defined institutional framework. Typically, funds pass through several layers of organisational bureaucracy down to service facilities which are changed with the responsibility of spending fund. | en_US |
