dc.description.abstract It is government’s duty to provide social infrastructure in sectors like transport, health, education, agriculture, energy, among others, by for example, respectively constructing roads, hospitals, schools, demonstration farms, power dams, for effective services delivery to its citizens. In order to ably execute its duties through planning and implementation of its projects, government requires administrative infrastructure in form of offices from which its officers in the respective administrative units operate. This project report contains details about the construction of the proposed Kiwoko Town Council administration block in Nakaseke district, phase one ; substructure up to ground floor slab. The project focuses on construction project management and contract administration, but also details the activities carried out during the project implementation. Chapter One discusses the background of the project, its objectives , scope and other project details like the contract sum, duration, the stake holders and the author’s involvement as a Contract Administrator, Chapter Two covers the project execution including the acquisition of works, construction activities and processes, project management and contract administration aspects of the project. The tools and project management techniques employed to manage time, cost and quality are also discussed here. Chapter Three contains the challenges encountered during project execution at individual, company, project and activity levels. The solutions employed to address these challenges and the lessons learned are also discussed here and Chapter Four contains conclusions drawn from the challenges and the different processes encountered during the execution of the project. It also details the recommendations on how to improve the project delivery in respect of time, cost and quality. en_US
