Abstract

A 2017 review found that 42.6% of African countries lacked adequate antimicrobial resistance data, with widespread resistance among clinical isolates. In Uganda, despite IPC guidelines, healthcare workers often lack awareness, especially in maternity wards, leading to high risks of postpartum infections for mothers and newborns.
